One summer, a curious cricket stumbles upon an old violin in the forest. ‘How convenient!’ she exclaims, and moves in, using her long legs and arms to play under the moonlight. Soon, her music fills the woods, enchanting mice, moths, and all the other small animals who live nearby.
But then a freezing cold winter arrives. And when you’re cold enough, anything goes. ‘We need firewood!’ the animals cry. And right there in the forest is that big, beautiful violin… Only once the animals are warm again do they realise how much they’ve lost. How can they make it right?
This is a charming and whimsical forest fable about the magic of music, the warmth of friendship, and the small joys we cherish. With her playful, witty, and beautifully detailed illustrations, internationally acclaimed graphic novelist and illustrator Anna Haifisch brings a touch of wonder and gentle humour to this story.
